Dr. O’Neal is the Director of the Women’s Neurology Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard teaching hospital in Boston, MA. She’s written multiple chapters, papers and edited several books on women’s neurology. She also directs a Harvard Medical School course on Women’s Neurology and Psychiatry and for many years directed the Neurology of Pregnancy course at the AAN.

Talk title: Issues in Women’s Neurology  
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss sex specific disease concerns   
2. Pathophysiology as it relates to sex
3. Treatment specific concerns for women

This case based presentation will explore some of the complexities related to taking care of women with neurological disease.  Specific examples of issues around reproductive health, pregnancy and healthy aging will be used to allow providers a more focused approach to caring for these women.  The talk will give a broad overview to highlight some of the many sex based concerns in women with multiple sclerosis, migraine, preeclampsia and stroke.
