We are pleased to announce that Dr. Philip Stasiak has accepted a full-time appointment as Lecturer, Clinician-Teacher in the Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine.

Dr. Stasiak is currently staff in the emergency department at University Health Network (UHN). Dr. Stasiak completed his residency in emergency medicine at McGill University. Dr. Stasiak completed advanced training during his residency in Emergency Ultrasonography at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. In addition, Dr. Stasiak completed the Master Teacher Program at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Stasiak's academic and scholarly focus is in the field of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). Dr. Stasiak is the educational co-lead for the Emergency Department POCUS program at UHN. He co-created the EPAMS program which gives one-on-one and one-on-two bedside POCUS teaching to staff emergency physicians. Dr. Stasiak plans to conduct, facilitate and supervise POCUS-related research projects that will contribute to the growing body of POCUS knowledge. He hopes to develop and maintain sustainable educational programs within the ED that will teach medical students, residents, and emergency physicians POCUS skills, applications, and the research evidence supporting its use.
