Best Practice in Education Rounds: Coaching in Health Professional Clinical Education: What Are We Learning?
This session will provide an overview of coaching, its component parts, and related research in health professions education, and will conclude with a discussion of the pros and cons of implementation.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss similarities and differences between feedback and coaching.
- Describe the key elements or activities which comprise coaching in education.
- Briefly review results of recent research studies of coaching in health professional education.
- Discuss factors which may influence the implementation of coaching in health professional education.
